Catching up Everyone
Hello All,
My camera is on the "fritz" - ie: not working so I don't have a picture or two to share this week sorry!
Much has happened since my last posting - Gabby's birthday, Mother's day, and Dorthy's wedding.
First - Gabby's birthday - well, actually she had 4. One at school, one at Chuck E. Cheese with her school friends, one at Glamour Girls (don't ask), and one with Grandma/Grandpa and aunts. They were all great and I can't tell which one Gabby had more fun at. I did personally attend the one at Katy Mill's mall with the skating gang. Attending were Katlyn, Alysa, Sarah, and Sierra. They had a blast with getting their hair, face, and nails done. They got to do some karoke as well. The favorites were Cha-Cha Slide, and the Macarena. I took some great video and even caught Rene Bloom getting down with her bad self during the songs. Of course she was embarrassed but ha,ha... I'll hold on to the video. Heh,heh.
Mother's day - it was great! This year, Andrew Castillo and I made the food on the grill. On the menu was, let me see... Shrimp on the stick, steak on the stick, chicken on the stick - and sausage on the stick. If we could put more stuff on a stick we would have. What a great way to cook and have fun.
Speaking of the shrimp, Gabby and I had gone the day before and driven all to way to the Kemah/Seabrook docks to get them FRESH off the boat. Cheap too. We took Misty-Meaner for a ride as well. She was doing well until she wander off in chase of ducks. She crossed a field that had TONS of cockle-burrels - stickers in her fur. She had HUNDREDS. The only way to get them off was to yank them off which did make her happy.
We all threw in and bought Mom a television set for her bedroom. I picked it up after shopping through the papers and doing my research on the web. I bought a 20" samsung. Good price at Best Buy.
Let's see...what else? Hmm... Mother's day for Sally was good too. Gabby and I bought her a charm for her bracelet. A very pretty angel - because she is our angel too. :) Oh, I also bought her a less glamours video card so that she could watch television on her computer while working, working out, or paying bills. We also took her out to for Italian and it was absolutely YUMMY. She had steak and a glass of wine and with was great. I had a little something that the chef made special for me with pesto and grilled chicken. Gabby? She was happy with her fried cheese sticks. :)
Let's see - what am I missing? Did I tell you about Joey and I being "guest DJs"? I think I did.
Oh my gosh...Dorothy's wedding. That was nice. Well, you may recall that we all missed out at Dorothy's wedding in Vegas. So, we thought...why not get them married here? Hey, the party was GREAT! We had fajitas, chicken, munchies, drinks, and a BEAUTIFUL wedding pool side. Tears were everywhere as the wedding vows were said as the sun was slowing setting. It was dramatic and could not have scripted it any better. After everyone went home, the girls had a balloon release and that was nice. I bet my balloon made it to Canada...or at least Austin.
Okay, that brings us up to LAST week. This week, well, I'll do that next time. It's 12:30am here and Uncle Joey is getting tired. Gabby went to bed at 9pm (late) for her. We went to an outdoor concert and spent time at Dave and Buster. Sally is also asleep. She was yelling at the TV earlier while "The Contender" was on. I guess her guy either won/lost/got killed. Hard to tell. At least she is no longer screaming at the TV during "The Amazing Race". Gabby and I? We like American Idol and scream at the screen during that show. Yes it's cheesy, but who cares...I'm having fun with my daughter.
Enjoy your week. Kiss those you love and spend time with them. Life is too short.
Joe.
